We packed our bags and headed to Dubuque, Iowa for Matt and Alesha’s romantic backyard wedding. Their day was a breath of fresh air, the type of backyard wedding filled with meaningful details and people. Alesha was dressed in an all-over lace a-line gown, complete with a bright bouquet, wonderful smile and a kindness that was contagious. Matt sported a gray tux, a class-act goatee and loads of laughs. This dashing couple had tons of whimsical details, like the vintage car parked on the yard, a hand-made archway courtesy of the groom, and an ice-cream machine. We were big fans.
Matt and Alesha are genuine, kind and loads of fun, as is their story. They met when Matt offered to shovel a neighbors driveway during a particularly snowy winter. That neighbor was Alesha’s grandfather, whom she was living with at the time. It wasn’t long before Matt and Alesha hit it off and so they say, the rest is history!
This wedding day reminded us of the power of people and community. Friends and family, near and far, came together to make this meaningful day. The wedding location was a family friend’s estate, the stunning floral arrangements were created by the bride’s mom and friend. The entire wedding day was coordinated by a dear friend of the family, and many of the details were made, built and crafted by the couple and those close to them! People make life meaningful and magical.
Enjoy a look into the celebration of Matt and Alesha. Cheers to you two!
